Sections:  (based on January rating supplement)

·   2 Non-rated: grades K-3 and 4-6.  Games not rated, notation not required, clocks not required but used if either player provides.  Players with 10 or more prior rated games not eligible. 

·   3 Rated: (including unrated and provisionally rated players) Elementary (K-6 only, no rating limit), Reserve (K-12 & U1000) and Open (K-12).  USCF or tournament membership required. Clocks not provided, players must bring or play without.  Notation optional for players in grades K-3, but may lose the right to make claims requiring a score sheet.

Format:  Open: 4 rounds G/45.  All Others: 5 rounds G/30.  No elimination, everyone plays all rounds.  One ½-point bye any round if requested before round 2 is paired.  Sets provided, bring clocks.  Rated sections only: 5-sec delay, Swiss pairings, accelerated at TD’s discretion. 

Schedule: 8:00am – 8:30am self check in, no registrations at door.  No section changes after 8:30am.  Announcements 8:45, 1^st round 9am, subsequent rounds asap.  Awards as each section finishes, ESTIMATED times: Non-rateds & Elementary 2pm, Reserve 3pm, Open 4pm.

Awards:  Trophies to top players in each section, participation medals to all others.  Tie break for trophies: prior result between tied players if only 2, otherwise USCF defaults.  Plaques to top 2 school or club teams each section (top 2-3 scores count for team).  

Entry Fee: $20 if postmarked by 1/7, $25 thereafter, no registrations at door.  $5 less for free/reduced price lunch program students with principal’s verification.  Checks payable to Fellowship of the King Chess Club.  Refund less $5 administrative fee if withdraw by 5pm 1/13, no refunds thereafter.

Weather: If either Franklin or Licking County is under a level 3 snow emergency lasting beyond 7am day of tournament, event will be cancelled.

Other: Food service available on site.  No reserved areas in skittles rooms, first come, first served.  Old rule 15A observed (may write first then move) unless using electronic score sheet.
